Yes, you do have to put some extra attention and work into looking maintaining it – such as oiling it to stop it drying out – but as you’re keeping it indoors in your conservatory, you won’t have to do this too often.
The first-class quality of this set starts with its delivery by two people wearing white gloves. They unpack the already assembled seating set and put it out for you. They also take away the packaging when they leave. What a great start to the pleasure of owning this furniture set.
The design of the two-seater sofa and two armchairs is traditional. The arms of the seats are made of natural cane and have a circular open pattern for an airy feel. The rest of the unit is woven of natural rattan in the same beigey natural colour. The fabric in this review is a vintage-looking print in Blossom – a floral print of pinks and greens. Alternative fabric designs are Dove, a light grey and white floral, and Eco, a mid-greyish brown and white leaf pattern.
The plump cushions are made of 100% polyester and are removable for machine washing at 30°C. The filling is high-end Dracon wrap, which is a soft foam that avoids wear and tear on the Pirelli webbing of the seat.

The frames of the two seats are made of powder-coated steel that’s also weather and rust resistant. The frames have anti-skid pads on the bottom so the chairs and tables don’t slip, slide or skid on any flooring. What’s really handy is that the table and the chairs fold up flat when not in use, saving you some floor space when you don’t need them.
From the sales photos, it seems that the chairs may be quite low to the ground. However, we couldn’t find any measurements anywhere to confirm this. So this is more of a warning than a problem.

The complete set is from black woven polyrattan and even the steel frame parts that show (the legs) are wrapped with this plastic rattan. This gives a lightweight and cohesive look to the furniture set. The only points of contrast are the grey seat cushions and the frosted glass coffee table top. The backs of the seats are well angled for comfort so you may not need to provide your own cushions there.
Everything is easy to keep clean. Wipe the polyresin parts down with a damp soapy cloth; wipe the glass table top, and remove the cushion covers (they each have a zip) and wash them.

With two armchairs, the Yaheetech Rattan Furniture Set is a three-piece polyresin set that fits into smaller conservatories or those which already contain some furniture. We review the black set but it also comes in shades of brown if you need a softer yet still neutral colour.
The two armchairs in this rattan set have high backs armrests. The seat backs widen slightly at the top to give your shoulders more support. Your sitting comfort is assured with the (included) seat cushions in grey. However, some online reviewers complain that the cushions lose their puffiness quite quickly, especially at the front edge. You may have to provide your own fluffy cushions instead.
The coffee table is a cube with a tempered clear glass top. It fits nicely between the two chairs and offers a safe place to put your drinks, phone and whatever magazines you’re reading. The legs of all the furniture elements have non-stick pads on the ends of them to stop them from skidding on and scuffing the floor beneath.
Heavy-duty steel pipe is used to make the frames of this furniture set. However, you don’t see it as everything is covered with the black polyresin plastic. This very much looks like a sophisticated set as the grey cushions don’t contrast heavily with the black furniture.

Assembly
In our research for this review, we found quite a number of reviewers complaining about how difficult it is to put together their rattan furniture. This was suspicious as the furniture in question was from all different brands and manufacturers.
And then we stumbled upon these important assembly instructions from just one seller. Read the following assembly instruction carefully and your DIY rattan furniture life should be much easier.
DO NOT tighten all the bolts until every piece of the furniture item is in place.
- Fasten the bolts lightly and you’ll be able to move each part a bit to line up the hole and the screws.
- Sometimes the holes are mis-aligned and you need this extra leeway to get the screws to reach them.
Grades of polyrattan
Polyrattan is a synthetic thermoplastic material that was developed especially for use outdoors. It’s weatherproof, rust-proof and doesn’t fade from UV-rays. It’s also lightweight and easy to clean. It’s formed into strips (rounded or flat) and woven into the material with which to make furniture.
But not all polyrattan is the same – there are different grades.
PE (polyethylene) polyrattan is the best grade. It’s stronger and more durable than the other grades, and usually comes with a longer warranty.
PU (polyurethane) polyrattan is next in durability. This resin is formed from two chemicals mixed together and is softer as the cells are more open.
Then we have PVC (polyvinylchloride). It’s thicker than PE with greater tear resistance but can go brittle and crack when it’s of the right thickness for furniture. It’s usually used to make fabric for cushions and awnings.
Dimensions
I know we also warn about purchasers being very aware of the dimensions of anything they buy. But sales photos can be taken from such an angle to make the items look smaller/bigger/longer/taller/etc than they are. Not all the dimensions are always given and we do our best to track down the ones that are missing – such as the height of the seats from the ground in this review.
Your best bet is still to find out what dimensions you can be sure to read carefully what they actually measure. For example, from the ground to the top of the seat back or to the top of the armrest; to the top of the seat or to the top of the seat cushion, and so on.
And then measure yourself, your family and your friends to find out how large your furniture should be for it to be comfortable.
