As a safety measure the torque clutch might be designed to disengage automatically so as to protect your wrist from too much pressure or if the drill suddenly rips apart, but if it could be preset to a higher torque then the awesome power could really be put to great use. The hand drill is much powerful and very heavy and is perfect for drilling through a hard surface. If your trying to drill through much softer material like brick walls or timber then this is not the product for you.
