From Science point of view, moisture content affects most important properties of timber. Therefore, we need a moisture measuring device to avoid unnecessary losses. The Dr. Meter MD918 inductive pinless meter is an outstanding moisture meter for this kind of work.
Lastly, it is recommended that, the Dr.Meter should be calibrated when using the meter for the first time, when exchanging battery, when using it in two extreme temperature differences, and when the device has not been in use for a quite long time. The only downside with this tool is its hefty price, however, it pays dividends.
